Where are the Huntings??

Since our last post we've...

Spent a few days in North Dakota with Ron. 

The kids LOVED seeing Dad!  We did some apartment/house/whatever searching...still no luck.

Drove back to Idaho.

Did laundry, repacked, and took off again for..

Salt Lake!!

We picked up my dad up from the airport who flew in to help Allison and Tim move down to Texas. Then we spent a week down there with Camille and her family!  The kids had a blast!

Drove back to Idaho.

Did laundry, repacked, stayed home a couple days, then...

Drove back to North Dakota.

We came to spend Easter with Ron and the week.  We've all loved every minute of it!

Tried to go home to Idaho today.

...but the roads are closed....Can you believe tomorrow is May 1?? 

So we are camping out in the motor home for now...

 

Ron's been on me for not updating the blog...I promise I attempted before this last trip but only got as far as getting pictures off the camera!  So TONS more pictures to come!!

My Rag Quilt!

I've been working on this quilt FOREVER! We have been saving our jeans as long as we've been married, in Ron's request that I make a Levi Quilt.  I started cutting up the jeans into squares a couple summers ago, it was a random hit and miss project for a while.  I finally got enough squares cut and a little spending money to finally get some fabric to go with it...of course it was John Deere!

Here's all the squares cut and ready to go!

(I did my squares 7 inches and the felt for the middle 6 inches...next time I might so the felt a little smaller.)

Then sandwich them together

Sew an X from corner to corner to keep them together...

 Anxiously await for kids to go to bed...

 so you can lay the pieces out on the floor to make your pattern.

Stack each row up IN ORDER and number them!! 

Start with row #1 and sew the squares together to make a row.

(What you want as the TOP needs to be facing OUT so the seems will be on top!)

 Continue until each row has been sewn.

Start with rows #1 and #2 sew them together, matching up the seems on the inside. Again your top pieces need to be on the outside.

Keep going until the rows are sewn together.

And your quilt is all pieced together!!

For the final step snip each seam. Oh and sew around the edges so you can snip them as well.

(I haven't done this yet.  I decided I better spend some time working on my house...pictures will come as soon as its done!)

What has Landon been up to??

He's been playing in the rain...

 washing my dishes.....

and baking ice cream!

(he found a hot pad in the play dishes and kitchen, grabbed the ice cream out of the ice cream cone and put it in the oven! Good thing I wasn't getting ready to bake anything!!)

Hair Styles for Girls:

I "liked" a website on facebook several months ago, but never took the time to really look at it.  I was about to delete it because I got tired of all the posts when I decided just to take a quick look at it.

WE LOVE IT!

Madilyn lets me do her hair and even gets excited about the new hair do's we try. Its been a blast...here a a few we've attempted!

This one could have been cute, but the rag curls ended up looking like Stephanie Tanner from Full House!!

This one was fun, just some pigtail buns with french braids. Actually very simple to do.

Here are some more fun ones we did and they are actually a lot easier than they look.............in fact they were all VERY easy and pretty quick!

and the best part is that Madilyn loves them too!!
