We can NEVER do a fishing trip to Birch Creek without it raining...its just untraditional!! Yesterday was no different! Although, it turned out to be very nice weather for the first bit of the trip! Must have been the "The Calm Before the Storm!"
Madilyn was pretty unsure about holding the worm at first. It was too wiggily, but she's braver than I!
She buddied right up to Taylor! She must have known I wouldn't be any help! In fact, I trying helping her cast her line out once. I wasn't too successful. She told me "I'll just go get Taylor, he knows how to do it right."
She was right...here they are reeling in the first catch of the evening!

..until it started twiching!! She dropped it pretty darn fast!
She did much better once they got it on a stick!

Landon had to have a stab at it too! He wanted to go "bitshing" all night!!

Babcock's dog Dudley! The kids had a blast playing with him. Landon was terrified!! I had to sit next to him the entire time and he would NOT let his feet touch the ground! Usually for a 2-year old its out of sight out of mind. Not this kid! If he didn't see that dog he needed to know where it was to be sure it wasn't going to get him!! (Shut up! I know you're ALL laughing!! Hopefully I don't have too many followers from my childhood years!!)
So this is how we spent the rest of the night..me holding Landon to go fishing (him holding the hookless, wormless pole over the creek) or him sitting on my lap yelling "bitshing bitshing". Aparently he can't say the "f" yet!
Madilyn wasn't the only who caught fish. Here is Kyler with his! Trixie caught a couple, Mack caught some, Corden caught one even cooked it and ate it (but didn't know he was supposed to gut it!) YUCK!
