Part III North Dakota for Easter

After we went to Salt Lake we came home for a few days.  I had another rough patch!  My friend Brooke moved to Wyoming almost a year ago.  She had come back for their spring break, her daughter Ashlyn's birthday, and Easter.  We really wanted to get together while she was here.  Friday we were going to meet up for Pizza and do a little Easter Shopping.  We were just going to call when we got to town to make the final arrangements.  At Bever Dick (10 minutes outside of town) I went to call her.  I couldn't find my phone! I panicked! I had no idea where is was.  I had had it in my back pocket all morning.  Then I remembered I went to the bathroom.  Not long after that Landon "went potty". I didn't help him and he almost over flowed the toilet.  My first thought was that he had flushed my phone down the toilet!!  What was I going to do!  1. I couldn't get a hold of Brooke!  She was going to think I stood her up!! I wasn't going to turn around to go get it!!  2. I was NOT going to drive 12 hours to ND without a phone (even if I didn't have service most of the way!) I drove around Rexburg and through all the parking lots of the places we had talked about going...Walmart, Kmart, Porters, Pizza Hut looking for her car.  I didn't have any luck.  We talked about going to Pizza Hut at noon.  So I sat at Pizza Hut hoping she would show up!  Luckily she did!! After that we had a great time!  The girls had a fun time together too! I really miss having her around!  I got some really fun ideas of new decorations for the new home!  I just wish she were here to do them with!!  After lunch, craft shopping, and Easter shopping we went our separate ways.  I went and got an oil change and prayed my phone was charging on the piano and NOT down the toilet!!  Whew!  I was safe!  It was on the piano!  We finished packing, loaded up the car, and took off for North Dakota in the morning.  I got a little bit of a late start, I had a hard time getting out of bed!! But we finally got on the road when I realized I didn't have my camera!  I was SO mad!  How could we do Easter without a camera!!  ...so we used Ron's cell phone!

The kids had fun wrestling with dad while he watched basketball.

The Easter Bunny found us in the hotel!!
Landon liked his Nerf gun!
Madilyn was proud of all her eggs!
Most people go to church on Easter Sunday,  take pictures in their Easter Dresses in the flowers...
not us!
  We went SWIMMING!!
We stayed at the Sleep Inn in Minot.  Its connected to the mall and this super fun water park that we got to go to for FREE because we stayed at the hotel!!

Landon LOVED the slides!  Yes the little kid slides were OKAY
But NOTHING was as good as the BIG slides!!
That's a big fat smile on his face...not a scream!!
Madilyn liked the big slides too
but she preferred the kiddy pool where she could be independent in the water!

THEN.  It was back to work!
This is Ron's new office!  He's got himself a lap top and scanner all set up so as soon as he gets the paperwork from the guys he can send it right to Idaho Falls!
We spent a lot of time waiting.
So we'd watch Netflix on the laptop!!
or run around and play outside whenever they could!

I can't keep my days straight anymore!!  At the end of the week right before we were going to come home a BIG storm blew through! I believe this was Saturday morning going to Stanley from a hotel in Minot.  We considered staying in Minot for the day instead of going back to the motor home.

This picture doesn't give the waves in the "pond" any justice! I couldn't believe how much the water was moving! (There are ponds like this all over North Dakota just from the snow met!)
On our way through, we counted 18 power poles that had been SNAPPED off because of the wind.  We've heard reports saying that there were 200 of them! Someone else said it was actually 1400!!
PLUS all 5 transformers blew!
We decided to tough it out in the motor home, until our power went out!
By then it looked like the middle of winter!

Our drive back to Minot looked something like this:

But we enjoyed a couple more nights at hotels!

By Monday you would have never known a major storm had blown through the weekend!

Except for the aftermath!!
