Moving Week Part 2

We finally hit the road!
I wanted to go through Island Park and West Yellowstone so we could see all the changing colors!
The kids and Ron slept through most of it, so I didn't get any pictures until we hit the pines!
But it was GORGEOUS!!

We were spoiled rotten that night!
We stayed in a suite in Billings that night,
got Famous Dave's take out, and got to eat it at a REAL table!!
YUM!!

The boys relaxed on the couch and caught up on some TV.

The kids went to bed...

and we got our own room!

We got woken up to a phone call the next morning from the banker telling us we had to get our down payment and closing costs to her 24 hours before we close, and she didn't schedule the appointment until Friday at 2:15!!  Here we thought we were going to get there, sign, and stay in OUR house the night before the trailor got there!!  (I have some very un-nice ways of descsribe our extreemly uninforming loan officer)  SO...we spent most of our drive Thursday figuring out how to get the money to her.

1.  A check that large takes 3 days to clear the banks.
2. She has to have a paper trail.
3. We missed the time frame to do a wire transfer PLUS we weren't there to sign it.
4. She wouldn't give us the exact amount until THAT day or explain how any of it worked. Even though I'd asked her SEVERAL times, the only answered she'd give us is it comes down to the last 48 hours and the title company!!

So we ended up staying in this disgusting hotel in Minot because every other room was booked with oil workers and the rodeo!!
.
BUT, we survived the bugs, the smell, and the bath tub that didn't drain.

Madilyn gave me directions back to the truck yard in Ross...

while Landon and Ron picked up a semi and headed that way too!

We stopped at the house, used the hide-a-key, unloaded the car, then went back to Minot to get the bank a certified check (an hour before closing), went to lunch while we waited, then signed our lives away!

I always imagined that when we finally bought our first house we'd be a nervous excited when it came down the signing.  Instead I think we were just fed up, frusterated, and ready to be done with it!!

We couldn't believe it when we got back to the house that everything was completely out of the trailor and organized into piles in the house and garage!!

It didn't take long at all for everyone to set up beds, arrange the furniture, and distribute boxes so I could unpack!

We even broke in the pool table!!

The kids are loving their "new" toys too!
I boxed most of them up 2-3 months ago!  Landon was in HEAVEN!!

Madilyn tried on every dressup she owns within an hour of unpacking the dressup box!

There is still TONS to be done, but we're getting back into the swing of things.  Landon LOVES helping me in the kitchen!!
And I LOVE having a pantry!!

I have LOTS and LOTS of plans for decorating my house!
I've been waiting YEARS for this day!!
I can't WAIT to do them ALL!

(Yes, I see you rolling your eyes RONALD!!)

I think it's an unwritten rule that closing on a house has to be FRUSTRATING!! Gotta love all the hoops to jump through!! Well, I'm glad you guys go it all figured out and are happily settled. I can't wait to see all your decorating ideas in action (maybe I'll steal a few) :)
